Welcome from the Director

This year is especially momentous as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary—a decade of dedication to excellence in Albanian education, fostering international values, and cultivating a caring and compassionate community. Over the years, our school has grown into a vibrant hub of learning, where students are encouraged to embrace their curiosity, achieve their potential, and become global citizens.  At the heart of our school are three pillars that guide everything we do: maintaining the highest academic standards while giving access to any student prepared to try their best, promoting a spirit of global understanding, and nurturing a supportive, empathetic environment that recognises the needs of all in our community. We believe that education extends beyond the classroom, preparing students not only for academic success but also for meaningful contributions to society. Our diverse community of learners and educators works together to create an inclusive and enriching atmosphere where everyone feels valued and inspired. Here's to another decade of growth, achievement, and shared purpose. As the Head of the school I have been here nearly 3 years now I am proud to have my own children currently in the DP and MYP programs here and my youngest son started in the Primary program. They have been with me in international schools in Shanghai, Doha and Pattaya in Thailand, and they love being here and making the most of what the school, Albania and the Balkan experience have given to us.  As we mark the school’s and personal milestones, we take pride in the journey we’ve shared together and look forward to continuing to build on this strong foundation and sharing the evidence of our community successes.

Introduction and Welcome from the Head of Secondary

At Albanian College Tirana, we take pride in offering an exceptional secondary school experience for students from Grades 6 to 12 through two distinct academic pathways: the American High School Program and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Our diverse and dedicated faculty, representing 19 different nationalities, work tirelessly to create a dynamic and inclusive environment that nurtures academic excellence, personal growth, and global-mindedness. Our students achieve remarkable success, gaining admission to universities worldwide.

As a father, educator, and leader, I am honored to be part of this vibrant community. Every day, I am inspired by the joy, curiosity, and creativity of our students as they navigate their educational journeys.

Introduction and Welcome from the Head of Primary

Welcome to the primary years department at Albanian College Tirana! At ACT, we are dedicated to transforming education in Albania by fostering a culture of lifelong learning in our students, staff, and community. Our student-centered approach is guided by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, which supports our students from ages 3 to 11, beginning in Early Years 1 and culminating in Grade 5.

Our students at ACT develop an international mindset as they explore and construct their identities within the global community. Through real-life experiences and an inquiry-based, concept-driven approach tailored to student interests and needs, they learn to embody the attributes of the Learner Profile and our school's Core Values. These foundational elements are integrated into our curriculum, guiding students as they develop their Approaches to Learning. Our Programme of Inquiry empowers students to engage in meaningful learning experiences that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the world around them.

We take immense pride in our students at Albanian College Tirana who embrace challenges with confidence, nurturing their sense of agency. This empowerment often leads them to take meaningful action within both local and global communities. Whether it's raising awareness about important issues, collaborating with local NGOs, fundraising for charity, or actively participating in school and community events, our learners demonstrate initiative and leadership.
